  • Capturing memories for future generations

Are you a contemporary witness?

The Menschenrechtszentrum Cottbus e. V. is very concerned about contact with former political prisoners of the Cottbus prison and their relatives. In addition, for the research, exhibition and educational work of the Cottbus Prison Memorial, the exchange with former employees, residents and other contemporary witnesses who can report on the former place of imprisonment is important.

Thus, the Menschenrechtszentrum Cottbus regularly conducts audio-visual and written interviews with contemporary witnesses. On one hand, the memorial is always on the lookout for photos, objects, documents and records relating to the history of the Cottbus detention centre, especially during the National Socialist reign of terror and the SED dictatorship, but also to the time before and after.

On the other hand, the memorial is also keen on supporting political prisoners and their relatives in coming to terms with their history and is available to answer questions and provide information. The information collected will naturally be treated confidentially.

The Menschenrechtszentrum Cottbus is looking forward to your participation!
